Description
I created “Lost and Found,” in 1980 it was my first non commissioned painting I sold.
The scene captured in this piece holds a special place in my heart, marking a significant milestone in my artistic journey.
A rugged cowboy astride his horse, a beacon of resilience in the midst of a relentless whiteout. This stoic figure placed against a distant rocky mountain peaks, barely visible through the chaotic swirl of snow storm. He cradles a calf in front of him, a fragile life rescued from the unforgiving cold.
The blue and white hues in the painting, evoking the chilling cold of the storm that rages around them. Creating a sense of movement and turmoil, as if the blizzard itself is a living entity. You can almost feel the biting wind and hear the eerie howl of the storm as it engulfs the brave cowboy and his precious cargo.
“Lost and Found” is not just a painting to me; it is a testament to the triumph of the human spirit in the face of adversity, a reminder of the enduring bond between man and nature. It was with a mix of pride and nostalgia that I parted with this artwork, my first sold piece, knowing that it would find a new home in a veterinarian's office where its story would continue to resonate with others.
